Epoxy Floors in Oakey
Oakey Creek runs through the middle of Oakey, and on 11 January 2011, the Queensland Floods Commission of Inquiry's interim report says, 128 homes were inundated and the town's industrial area was also affected. For a shed, workshop or house floor in Oakey, “has water been on this floor?” is a fair question to put to whoever quotes.

Epoxy Floors around Oakey
The interim report (chapter 7, Lockyer Valley and Toowoomba, read 6 October 2026) says Oakey Creek bisects Oakey through the centre of the town, and that on 11 January both the bridge on Bridge Street and the railway bridge overtopped. None of these sources mentions floor coatings, so what follows is our inference, not a rule: an industrial-area shed or workshop floor that has been under water makes dampness and what was washed over it the first questions, ahead of the product. Tell the provider what you know of the floor's history and ask what they check before a coat goes on. No source we read gives a moisture limit, so we state none.
Oakey's winter mornings are cold on the record. The Bureau of Meteorology's Oakey Aero station (406 m, record 1973 to 2026) gives a July mean minimum of 3.0 °C. Two Toowoomba readings sit beside it: the Bureau's Toowoomba station (691 m, record 1931 to 1998) gives 5.3 °C and Toowoomba Airport (641 m, readings from 1996) gives 6.7 °C. Different stations, heights and periods, so the gap is not a like-for-like difference between the towns. None of these sources mentions floor coatings, so what follows is our inference, not a rule: a cold slab narrows when a coating can be applied and cured, so the product's own stated minimum temperature, not the calendar, governs the booking. We state no limit; ask the contractor for theirs.
